Registration:
- Registration is not necessary for reading forum postings, but is required for posting a message (either responding to someone else’s message or starting a new message thread)
- Click on "Enter Forums" in the AltTox Forums area of the AltTox home page, or enter http://forums.alttox.org in your web browser
- Click on "Register" in the top navigation pane
- Complete the simple registration form, check "I Accept", and hit the Register button at the bottom of page (keep a record of your user name and password)
- Await an email confirming registration and click the activation link found within
- After clicking the activation link, you will be taken to the forums and asked to enter your password.
- You will now be logged in and able to fully utilize the forums
Logging In:
- Registered users must be logged in before being able to post messages
- Users can log in for various session lengths or, when using their own computers, may prefer to be logged in "permanently" so that they will automatically be logged in when returning to the forums
Posting a new comment:
- Click on the title of the forum you want to read or post a comment to, and you will get a listing of the discussion threads under that forum topic
- Click on any of the listed titles to see the initial posting and the replies to that posting
- To start your own message thread, select "New Topic"
- Add a descriptive subject line so that other readers will understand the content of your comment
- Type your message, preview it, and then click "Submit"
Posting a response to an existing comment:
- To respond to existing message threads, click on the appropriate title, and select the "Reply" button
- Post your comment
Other options:
- To receive e-mail notifications of new topics on a particular forum, select that forum and hit the "Notify" button
- To receive notifications of replies to specific topics within a forum, you must be within the message when you hit the "Notify" button
- Browse other forum buttons for additional functions
