Evelyn Tiffany-Castiglioni is Head of the Department of Veterinary Integrative Sciences and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University. She received a BS degree in Biology from the University of Texas at El Paso in 1975 and a PhD in Human Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston in 1979. She also conducted postdoctoral research in developmental neuroimmunology at UCLA. Dr. Tiffany-Castiglioni carries out research on the neurotoxicity of environmental contaminants, particularly heavy metal toxicity to astrocytes. She is currently a member of the Editorial Board of International Journal of Developmental Neuroscience and an Associate Editor for Neurotoxicology. She recently edited and co-authored a book, In Vitro Neurotoxicology: Principles and Challenges, published in 2004 by Humana Press.
